title: In depth analyses of protein networks lead to the discovery of protein function

With the development of genomics, target prioritisation is becoming more and more important. In order to answer this demand, Hybrigenics has developed integrated biological experiment-based and in silico-based technology platforms that allow target identification, selection, prioritization and validation of drug targets. Target identification is based on the mapping of the protein-protein interaction networks involving selected proteins (protein interactions maps (PIM®)) thus potentially revealing various novel targets along pathways. Bioinformatic pre-validation tools are then applied to the identified targets in order to sort out and filter information. As a result, potential targets are thus prioritized for further validation. Biological analysis and validation are then performed in human cells using various approaches including unique tools generated by Hybrigenics’ screening technology i.e. the specific interacting domain computed for each protein-protein interaction (SID®). Several examples of protein networks, pathway description and biological validation of protein functions will be presented.
